Opportunity...

As a kid, I had to memorize a poem called "Opportunity." It's a great poem, and I highly recommend it. But I want to let you all in on an opportunity that I have.

Coming up on a year ago, I joined Phi Theta Kappa at my college. I had the opportunity to do that several years ago, when I had just graduated high school. Sadly, then I chose not to join. The good news is, I joined much earlier this year, and I'm glad I did.

I received an email yesterday that let me know I was selected to participate in the International Student Laureate Program. I have the opportunity to travel to China, Australia, or New York. (Needless to say, the exotic appeals to me.) I am exploring my options right now, and hopefully next June, I will have taken a trip to China!!!

The trip allows for a few excursions to some pretty cool places, like The Great Wall, The Jade Palace, and a visit to see the Terra Cotta Army. Even if I choose not to go, the fact that I was selected is pretty amazing. However, it's one of those opportunities I don't care to miss. I'll keep everyone posted!!!
