Kennedy Space Center

Since I had the day off, after the launch of Endeavour, I decided to take a trip to the Center, especially since I wanted to visit last time and I refuse to visit the day of the last launch of the space shuttle program...(I thought it was a good idea...) So off I went, all by myself...I wish my camera had two or three batteries, because it died before I was all the way through... :(

I would dare you all to guess what the above picture is of, but you probably wouldn't guess. It's the vehicle transporter that takes the shuttle from the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building) to the launch pad. Cool, huh??

I snapped these on the way to the Saturn V building...the following pictures are in the Saturn V building...I didn't take any pictures of the Visitor's Center until I came back...

This is the sight that greets you when you come out of the video for Apollo 8. Any guesses?? It is the tail end of a Saturn V rocket...Huge, right? It always amazes me how big it is...

This looks like a picture of a toy car (at least to me...lol!), but it's not...I thought it was gorgeous! But then again, I love beautiful cars and cars that go fast...

Now, for some news that's out of this world...

This guy has a few handles, but I'm really wondering what we should call him...

For the shoe addict, who has everything else...try and find these at Neiman Marcus!!

No, it's not an upside down fishbowl, but you'd sure feel like you were in one with one of these on your head...

The entire ensemble...must have items for this coming fall's fashions...

"No, tell us how you really feel..."

The launch pad from the lawn of the Saturn V building...

The VAB, also from the Saturn V building...

This was pretty meaningful to me...it is a memorial for all the astronauts who have lost their lives during the space program. I didn't think the picture turned out, until I looked at it on the computer.

In the end, it was Endeavour's day...
